Infrastructure Cost Estimation
How Edgaze infrastructure cost estimates guide creator pricing without becoming a separate creator earnings deduction.
Overview
Edgaze may show infrastructure cost estimates during publishing to help creators price workflows responsibly. The estimate is pricing guidance, not a bill, fee, or automatic deduction from Creator earnings.
What the Estimate Is
Pricing guidance
Edgaze may show infrastructure cost estimates during publishing to help creators price workflows responsibly. Estimates can reflect likely model, API, compute, or orchestration cost for hosted execution.
Not a bill
The estimate is a pricing signal, not a bill.
What the Estimate Is Not
The infrastructure estimate is not:
- A second platform fee.
- An automatic deduction from Creator earnings.
- A Stripe fee.
- A guarantee of actual cost.
- A guarantee that a workflow will remain profitable at a selected price.
Relationship to Marketplace Fees
The standard marketplace fee is the Edgaze platform fee, currently 20% unless a written agreement or override applies. Infrastructure estimates are separate guidance used to help creators decide whether the listing price is sustainable.
Why Estimates Matter
Hosted workflow economics
AI workflows can involve multiple model calls, image generation, embeddings, tool calls, and third-party APIs. A low product price may be commercially unhealthy if the workflow is expensive to serve.
Pricing decisions
Creators should use estimates alongside product value, likely demand, included run limits, refund risk, support burden, and marketplace fees.
Changes and Accuracy
Why estimates change
Estimates may be incomplete or change over time because provider pricing, model routing, retry behavior, workflow structure, usage patterns, and platform infrastructure change.
Historical purchases
Edgaze may update estimation logic without changing historical purchase records.
