Free Demos
How one-time free demos let buyers run your real workflow with their own inputs before they pay.
Creators enabling free demos on published workflows.
Let a buyer experience a real Edgaze run for free, then convert them to a paid run or bundle.
Overview#
A free demo is a real execution of your published workflow. It is not a video, screenshot, or mocked UI. Edgaze runs the same graph buyers will pay for, with demo funding and billing rules that keep demos free for the buyer and unpaid for the creator.
Demo runs and builder test runs are never billed. They do not charge wallet or bundle balance, and they do not create creator earnings.
Why demos exist#
Buyers decide faster when they can provide their own inputs and see a finished result. Demos reduce trust friction without giving unlimited free compute:
- the run is a genuine hosted execution of your workflow;
- demos are limited (typically one successful demo per device / eligibility rules for that listing); and
- paid runs still use your published per-run price after the demo.
What buyers see#
On a product page with demos enabled, buyers can start a free demo from the run surface. The flow may include a short verification step (for example Turnstile) so demo capacity is not abused. During and after the run, the UI marks the experience as a demo so it is not confused with a paid purchase.
Buyers can often start from pre-filled example inputs or clear them and enter their own, within your published input envelope. Inputs above the envelope are rejected before the run starts - the same rule as paid runs.
What creators get#
- A live proof that the product works with real inputs
- No earnings on demo runs (by design)
- The same graph and version the buyer will pay for later
Configure demos as part of publishing and listing settings in Workflow Studio / the publish flow. Keep demo inputs and thumbnails honest: demos should represent normal results, not one-off cherry-picked outputs.
Billing and abuse rules#
| Run kind | Buyer charged? | Creator earns? |
|---|---|---|
| Free demo | No | No |
| Builder test run | No | No |
| Successful paid run | Yes - displayed price | Yes - 80% of margin |
| Failed or cancelled paid run | No margin charge | No |
Edgaze may rate-limit, block, or require verification when demo usage looks abusive. See Workflow Run Policy and Fraud & Abuse Policy.
