# Marketplace Fees

> How Edgaze platform fees apply to creator margin on successful per-run sales, separate from compute recovery.

## Overview

Edgaze charges a **20% platform fee on creator margin** for each successful per-run marketplace sale. The creator keeps **80% of the margin** they set at publish. Compute is recovered separately through the execution economy and is **not** included in the margin split.

Unless a separate written agreement or active creator-specific override applies, this margin split is the default for per-run workflow listings. Read the [Billing guides](/docs/billing) for the full charge sequence.

## Fee Calculation

Per-run buyer price equals **creator margin plus compute displayed** (estimated at the workflow input envelope maximum). Only the **margin portion** is split between creator and Edgaze.

| Item | Example |
| ----------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Creator margin per run | $5.00 |
| Compute displayed (at envelope max) | $0.50 |
| Buyer pays (displayed price) | $5.50 |
| Creator earns (80% of margin) | $4.00 |
| Edgaze platform fee (20% of margin) | $1.00 |
| Compute portion | Included in what the buyer pays, not part of creator earnings |

Edgaze records gross margin, platform fee, and your net earnings for each successful run. Amounts are rounded down to the nearest cent.

## Compute and Margin Are Separate

Hosted compute is Edgaze's cost to serve the run. It is included in what the buyer pays as part of the displayed price and is **not** part of your margin earnings. Creators never earn a share of compute.

Infrastructure estimates shown during publishing help creators set margin responsibly. They are pricing guidance, not an additional fee deducted from creator earnings. Read [Infrastructure Cost Estimation](/docs/infrastructure-cost-estimation).

## Stripe Processing Fees

Stripe processing fees on wallet top-ups, bundle purchases, and marketplace checkout are handled from Edgaze's platform-side economics under the current model. They are **not** deducted from the creator's 80% margin share.

If a separate written agreement or future platform change modifies fee treatment, that agreement or updated policy controls prospectively.

## Legacy Unlock Purchases

Older listings sold through **legacy checkout** follow the purchase-time split recorded at checkout, not the per-run margin model used by new listings. Read [Legacy Unlock](/docs/billing/legacy-unlock) for the dual-model distinction.

## Fee Overrides

Edgaze may apply creator-specific fee overrides by written agreement or administrative configuration. Where an override applies, your earnings records may reflect the overridden platform fee percentage.

## Changes

Edgaze may update marketplace fees for future transactions. Past sales remain subject to the fee split recorded for those transactions unless corrected for refunds, disputes, fraud, or platform error.
